"This is a mixed review. There are quite a few things I like about this waffle maker. It is easy to use. It makes evenly browned good sized deep waffles that are crispy outside and fluffy inside. The waffles do not take long to cook, and you can make one after another without having to wait for it to reheat. Initial set up is simple; you have to pre-treat the grills by brushing on a light coat of vegetable oil and then just heat and go. I have made over a dozen waffles in the unit and have had no problems with them at all. You need no pretreatment on the grills after the initial brush of oil. You have no need to use any non-stick spray or fats, the waffles will not stick. Now for the not so great things. There is no heat adjustment. This is not a real issue since the iron cooks well and evenly. There is no audible tone telling you when the waffle is done, a green light indicates the waffle is done, but I like mine a bit crispier then the default, so all you need to do in leave it in 15-30 seconds more to your taste. The grills do not remove for cleaning, but they are still easy to wipe down. The hinge on the iron and the overall construction in the cradle seems a bit flimsy, but I had no problems with it, and don't think it will be an issue overall. The worst part is the handle of the unit. It is made to fold 90 degrees for storage. The hinge is poorly made and it does not lock well in the straight position so that when you go to turn the iron, the hinge actually pops and the handle bends making the turn a bit awkward and that is annoying. I can see someone getting a bit panicky that the hinge bends and tipping over the unit overcompensating and causing damage or injury. Once I noted this flaw, it was a simple annoyance but not enough to say the unit is bad, I worked with it. It still made excellent waffles. The three stars are there because the price of this unit is high when the negatives I have noted are taken into account and compared to the prices of other similar units that are less expensive."

I’m really pleased with this waffle maker! It’s incredibly easy to use and heats up quickly, so I can have waffles ready in no time. The waffles come out exactly as expected—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—and the indicator light lets me know when they’re perfectly done. Cleanup is a breeze, thanks to the non-stick plates, and the compact design makes it easy to store. It feels durable and well-built, so I’m confident it will last for a long time. Overall, this waffle maker works exactly as promised and is a great addition to my kitchen. Highly recommend!

I recently purchased this waffle maker, and it has quickly become a kitchen favorite! The affordability combined with its exceptional performance make it a fantastic addition to any home. The indicator lights are incredibly helpful, providing a foolproof way to know when the waffle iron is ready for action. The flip feature is a game-changer for achieving even cooking, thanks to the clever use of gravity. I've never experienced any issues with overcooking – every waffle comes out perfectly golden and delicious. The non-stick surface is a dream! I love how the batter effortlessly lifts off, resulting in pancakes that remind me of those served in high-end hotels. It's a delightful way to enjoy a touch of luxury in the comfort of my own home.In summary, this waffle maker has exceeded my expectations, offering quality and performance at an unbeatable price. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a reliable and efficient appliance for creating delightful breakfast treats!

This works great! Only thing I would want is a slightly larger drip tray for underneath but it cooks the waffles great! Easy to set up and clean. Waffles come out brown perfectly cooked in about 4-5 minutes.

When I saw this waffle maker, I decided I wanted it for Christmas. I told my husband I bought it so he could give it to me. He was also excited and wanted waffles on Christmas morning. We had other things going on Christmas morning so we had waffles two mornings later. I really underestimated the size of these waffles because I made six of them for the two of us. They were huge! And they baked so quickly. I put them in the oven on a cookie sheet to keep warm while I finished using up the batter. Ultimately I needed two cookie sheets and they still weren't big enough.Next time I'll make three (one and a half for each of us - or freeze the extra one for later). These are so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I used Krusteaz waffle mix.I used a little over a half cup of batter per waffle. I almost used 3/4 cup like the instructions with the waffle maker suggested, but it started to overflow to the little catch pan underneath the waffle maker. That little plate under the waffle iron was a lifesaver and it made it easy to clean up. You need to make sure the waffle iron is level when you pour in the batter so it doesn't flow to one side or the other. I used a rubber spatula to remove the waffle from the iron. You don't want to use metal because it can scratch the finish on the waffle iron.I used coconut oil to season the plates (very lightly) and they did not smoke, just had steam from the waffle cooking.I'm very pleased with this waffle maker and look forward to making more.

I have purchased both this and the BELLA Classic Rotating Belgian Waffle Maker 13991. Ultimately I recommend this one, over the Bella.Functionally, they work identically. They produce the same size waffles with the same pattern, the locking mechanism works basically the same, they both have the same folding handle, they both have a drip tray that can be slotted in vertically for convenience. I measured the temperatures and temperature evenness of the hot plates with an IR thermometer and they're similarly identical -- heating until 450°F, stopping heating until it goes down to 350°F, then turning heating back on until reaching 450°F. In fact, the two products are so similar that I have to assume they're made in the same factory in China. And the one functional difference them *seem* to have actually isn't -- the temperature control on the Bella (which the B&D lacks) has no purpose. I mean, it works. But there is simply no situation when you're making waffles where you don't want the maximum heat, where you don't want them to start out at 450°F. However light or dark you prefer your waffles should be determined exclusively by how long you leave them in. Lighter waffles should be done with less time, not a lower temperature. A lower temperature will only result in an undercooked interior. So the fact that the Bella has a temperature knob isn't a pro in any way, but it is one more thing that can break -- so it's actually a con, albeit a small one. But, so why do I recommend the Black & Decker instead? Quite simply, it looks much better in the kitchen. The Bella is made of glossy-smooth stainless steel, and a glossy-smooth plastic support that looks flimsy. It just looks kind of... cheap. Whereas the Black & Decker is made of *brushed* stainless steel, and a *matte* plastic support that looks and feels far more substantial. If you have a modern kitchen, then your fridge/dishwasher/oven/toaster oven/etc. are probably all finished in *brushed* steel. So the Black & Decker just "fits in" nicely. Whereas the Bella just looks cheap and unattractive. Matte finishes are just more attractive than glossy ones, generally speaking. If you don't care about looks, then just pick whichever one is cheaper -- they will make identical waffles. But if you want this to look good in your kitchen, then I completely recommend the Black & Decker instead.
