"Was delivered to me in 1 day— the book was of good quality!Here's the book review:"Days at the Torunka Café" wasn't even on my TBR list, but I had to buy it to gift my Chris child since it was on his wishlist– so I thought I, as well, could finish reading it before I give it to him (some of you might judge me for it, but that's fine).Do you know how people say that "books have a way of finding you when you need them"? That's what I felt about this one. Personally, I'm someone who loves cafés-coffee aroma in the air, people happily chit-chatting, baristas' faces lighting up when their regulars show up, quiet corners filled with customers with their noses in books-they just have so much to offer. This book was a blend of how some people's lives changed just because they decided to step into that café for a coffee that day– reunions, love stories, and nostalgic memories. I loved how a sip of coffee in a random, hidden café just brought people together. I loved the whimsical quotes and deep, introspective insights from this book.The book was so small, just 224 pages long, that you could finish it in a matter of 4-5 hours. It made me feel inspired, touched, and really satisfied when I finished the book and read the translator's note about how he and the original author are going to keep the location of the real Torunka café a secret. would do the same if I find one like that too."

Instead, they carry important emotions and values in a very comforting way, almost like someone softly humming a lullaby that slowly relaxes you without forcing anything on you.What really stands out is how real and human the characters feel. They are flawed, emotional, and vulnerable in very honest ways. Days at the Torunka Café — Satoshi Yagisawa“Only after you lose something do you realize how precious it was.”I finished this last night—feeling happy, emotional, and oddly healed, as if I had lived alongside every character. Japanese fiction found me during my lowest phase, and there’s been no turning back since. What amazes me is how, every time I pick one up, it reaches me in the most unexpected way.The book unfolds through three interconnected stories set in the quiet lanes of Tokyo.The first follows Chinatsu and Shuichi, a part-time café worker whose chance meeting slowly unfolds into something tender and meaningful.The second story was the most emotional for me—a man returns after 30 years in search of his lost love, only to meet her daughter instead. I don’t know why, but this story broke something open in me. I did shed tears.The third story belongs to Shizuku’s youngest daughter, and this one completely stole my heart. I found myself laughing, feeling warm, and loving Shizuku even more through her eyes.Each story leaves behind a quiet lesson. And throughout the book, the aroma of coffee lingered so vividly that I could almost smell it. Arghhh, I miss drinking coffee—only coffee lovers will understand.Even before I began reading, I carried a dream of visiting Tokyo and living a life like this—slow, gentle, meaningful.
